Every year, around 1.19 million people die on the world’s roads. Without a shared language for driver risk, we cannot compare, track or learn globally to reduce this number. Until now, such a language did not exist.
By analysing and combining data from all sources, the FIA Driver Safety Index (DSI) makes driving risk globally standardised and comparable to support existing road safety initiatives.
Despite efforts to reduce crashes, they continue to be a burden for health systems and a tragedy for families and communities worldwide. This is why, in its Second Decade of Action for Road Safety, the United Nations has set a goal to reduce road deaths and injuries by 50% by 2030.
To achieve this goal and act at scale, the commitment of the private sector is urgently needed. Approximately 400,000 road traffic deaths every year are work-related, with road crashes being the leading cause of occupational deaths.
Road safety is not an option. It’s time for all organisations to incorporate road safety as a core part of their operations.
By subscribing to the FIA DSI, your organisation can take responsibility, prioritise meaningful action and advance road safety with confidence.
